Miss Blogger - Annika Hein

It would be my pleasure to introduce you to Annika Hein who is not only a good friend but also an amazing fashion blogger and is truly devoted to the cause in an unconventional way. Known as the ‘effortlessly unconventional scholar’ she blogs for Street Scholar as well as her personal bogs Cadenceandclementine and Grey Attic. Annika says “I’m a little hard to define, my look, my lifestyle and my loves are extremely eclectic yet somehow specific and distinct, but to put it simply I like cool s**t, stuff that has an edge and attitude about it, things that sit a little left of centre and really make you think”.

I thought it was only too appropriate to feature dearest Annika, with all things considered as she is a lover of winter! If she could live in winter all year round she would be as happy as when she finds her vogue or Harpers subscription in her letterbox! Her most fashion loves are black stockings, burgundy and navy nail polish, fire engine red lippy and most of all “I need these in my life”, if I had a dollar for every time I here these words I would be rich!! She is inspired by some of the greatest duo’s McQueen and Ms. Blow, Anna and Grace, Bonnie and Clyde, MK and Ashleigh, Karl and Chanel and oh did I mention she has an unhealthy obsession with people’s names and by names I mean that’s just it peoples names!

In her own words Annika describes her style as contradicting, loving everything from skulls to floral prints! She blogs about every fashion trend under the sun, however at the end of the day Annika wears her style well and is fashion forward in her own right! She has a niche in translating and envisioning fashion and turning them into words, expressing her opinions and is not afraid to own them! Basically the moral of the story is watch out blogosphere Annika is making her mark in the world of blogging and fashion!

Winter Wonderland

The temperature is rapidly dropping and it's time to pull out your winter favourites. With every season there are new trends and with every trend there is a MUST HAVE, well must havesssss! Granted you have your favourites, but can you ever really get enough….ahrrm NO! So let me make it easy for you and let you in on what your wardrobe needs this winter…

Luxe Leather
Firstly it’s time to get your inner biker on! Whether it be the biker jacket, the leather mini or if you don’t want to go all the way, how about the wet look leggings!

Lace
Another must have is a little bit of lace. There is so much beautiful lace arriving in store this winter from Keepsake, Finders Keepers and Style Stalker. Indulge in a mini lace dress or blouse, either which way don’t let your wardrobe miss out on this fabulous trend, it will hate you forever.

Knit
You cannot go through winter without a knit in your life. Change it up a little; give your classic blazer a rest. At promise we are loving the little patch knits. Invest in a comfy knit cardigan or even an everyday knitted dress.

The Colour Wheel
Depending on which direction you want to take your style, I am still a strong believer in the navy’s and Burgundies for winter. Burgundy is stunning when styling it back with something navy, burgundy jeans with a navy knit or burgundy lips with navy finger nails. Whichever way, they compliment each other nicely. If you’re not into the darkness of winter then jump on the pastel band wagon, you can tie it in anywhere!

Neon is going to make an appearance in Promise this winter. You can add a pop of colour with a cute neon coloured knit or cardie. Use it as a layering piece to brighten up your winter!

Dal East Sprays Promise

Yesterday we had the pleasure of Dal East unleash his graffiti talent on the outside wall of Promise. Finally graffiti that is welcome with open arms. The Chinese born talent roams the globe showcasing his art from New York to Paris, from Japan to every other amazing place in the world you can think of to Melbourne right on the wall of PROMISE.  He studied sculpture at the Institute of Fine Art and founded his love for street art back in 2004, inspired by the way the material world revolves, the unfolding of the spiritual world and the endless space that surrounds us.

Dal East is currently exhibiting at the RTIST Gallery in Prahran from the 26th of April until the 13th of May! So if you are around or even visiting Melbourne during that time make sure you stop by and check it out.

Little Greville's

It has been nearly two wonderful weeks since Promise officially opened its doors and it has been AMAZING! Loving all of our beautiful customers and I must say the boys have been super impressive being dedicated shopping companions! Despite the unpredictable Melbourne weather ladies still shop! With having four seasons in one day, it’s hard to tell who will brave the weather and venture out. We are very excited to be here on Greville and look forward to everyday.  XX
